User Privacy Choices and Data Rights
This page explains the privacy choices and data rights that may be available to you depending on your location and the law that applies. It supplements, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy.
1. Access and information requests
You may request confirmation of whether we process your personal data and, where applicable, request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, subject to legal exemptions and permitted verification steps.
2. Correction and updating
You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data. Some information may also be editable directly within the app.
3. Data export
Where supported, you may export your records or request a copy of data in a structured format, subject to verification, technical feasibility, and legal limitations.
In the current release, GLPzy also offers a user-initiated local `.glpzybackup` file for continuity. New-phone continuity otherwise relies on Apple device transfer or an encrypted local computer backup. Restoring from the GLPzy file is replace-only and first creates a local safety backup on the device. GLPzy does not use app-controlled iCloud storage or sync for health records.
4. Deletion
GLPzy does not require an in-app account for core tracking. You may delete local records using the in-app delete-data controls. You may also request deletion of support correspondence or other information you have shared with us. We may retain limited information where required by law, to protect the integrity of the service, to prevent fraud, to resolve disputes, or to satisfy accounting, tax, or security obligations.
5. Restriction and objection
Where applicable, you may request restriction of certain processing or object to certain processing based on your particular circumstances, especially where processing relies on legitimate interests.
6. Withdrawal of consent
Where we rely on consent for optional processing, you may withdraw that consent. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal took effect.
7. Apple Health permissions
Apple Health access is optional. In the current shipped setup, GLPzy imports body weight history and height when you grant permission, then reads body composition, sleep, movement, workout, calories, protein, and water summaries in read-only mode. You can manage those permissions through Apple Health and iOS settings, and GLPzy can continue in manual mode if you revoke access later.
8. Identity verification
Before fulfilling certain requests, we may ask you to verify your identity or ownership of the relevant account. This is to protect users and prevent unauthorised access to personal data.
9. Appeals and complaints
If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of a privacy request, you may contact us again for internal review. Depending on your location, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, regulator, or other competent body.
10. How to exercise your rights
- Email privacy requests to [email protected].
- Use in-app data deletion tools where available.
- For routine support questions, contact [email protected].
11. Response timing
We aim to respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. In some cases, especially where requests are complex, repetitive, legally constrained, or require additional verification, the response period may be extended as permitted by law.
12. Additional regional rights
Certain jurisdictions may provide additional rights relating to access, correction, portability, deletion, restriction, appeal, opt-out, or non-discrimination. Where such rights apply, we will handle requests in accordance with the relevant law.
